THE HEART OF INDONESIA

Role: Design & Art Direction
This is my thesis (final project) for my undergrad at Pratt. In my thesis, I aim to give an authentic portrayal of Indonesia, encompassing both its virtues and its flaws. Rather than only presenting the good, I want to offer a candid and comprehensive examination of Indonesian society and culture. By creating a series of souvenirs that reflect the diverse aspects of Indonesian culture and society, I hope to help people see the true essence of Indonesians.
If you think Indonesia is all about endless summer and beaches, then you’re wrong. I mean, yes, that part is true, but that is not the entirety of who we are. Indonesians love to eat spicy food and we pride ourselves on how rich our culture is. On this set of playing cards, you’ll experience what it's like being an Indonesian!

: Every day objects
♣ : Indonesian landmarks
♦:  Indonesian fauna & flora
♥: Indonesian tropical fruits
My favorite part of this project was printing out my designs and showcasing them at the 2024 Pratt Show. It was an incredible experience and a wonderful way to cap off my college journey. I am incredibly proud to represent my country through my work and to share my culture and identity with others. If you've read this far, thank you! I love sharing my work as much as making it. Feel free to reach out with any questions or even just to grab a cup of coffee (I can tell you all about Indonesia's unique poop coffee)
